Bill 124 Remedy and CRA T1198 Tax Forms
TVDSB has indicated that "vendor problems” are causing the delay in providing CRA T1198 tax forms.
Two years ago, ETFO Thames Valley strongly advised TVDSB to provide Teachers with an itemized breakdown of the Bill 124 remedy payments. TVDSB chose not to heed this advice.
ETFO Thames Valley first raised the issue of the CRA T1198 tax form in June 2024. From the perspective of ETFO Thames Valley, TVDSB has had ample time to prepare for this.
The following Boards have already provided to Teachers CRA T1198 tax forms or letters confirming the qualifying retroactive lump sum payment:
- York Region
- Greater Essex
- Lakehead
- Trillium Lakelands
- Rainy River
- Ontario Northeast
- Grand Erie
- Avon Maitland
- Toronto
- Near North
- Hastings Prince Edward
- Halton
- Rainbow
- Keewatin-Patricia
- Simcoe
- Lambton Kent
- Durham
- Kawartha Pineridge
- Renfrew
We continue to urge TVDSB to join this list as soon as possible.
Specific questions regarding payroll matters should be directed to TVDSB Payroll.
