Class Sizes

• Staffed up to 29 during spring staffing.
• All Kindergarten classes are to be a mix of JK/SK students.
• 10% of kindergarten classes in the board may go up to 32 students
• Classes above 32 students are out of compliance.

• Counts as a primary classroom
• Maximum of 20 students
• Preferred configuration is 9 SK / 11 Gr1

• Up to 20 students is compliant
• 21 –23 students are non-compliant.  Up to 10% of the board may be non-compliant.
• 24 is a violation

• Counts as a junior classroom
• Maximum of 23 students

• System average is to be 24.5 students

Article L22.04 determines the maximum class sizes

• Junior grades 26 students +/- 4 (maximum 30 students)
• Intermediate 28 students +/- 4 (maximum 32 students)
