The Provincial General Election will be held on Thursday February 27, 2025. Polls are open on Election Day from 9:00 am until 9:00 pm.
Teachers are reminded that information about the following has been sent:

- Links to Provincial political parties and platforms.
- Links to Building Better Schools, ETFO’s education platform.
- Student Vote election-related resources for Teachers that align to the Ontario Curriculum.
- Links to Local Campaigns.
- ETFO Provincial election endorsements.
- CLC/OFL election resources.
- Links to NDP and Green Party Platforms.
- Video messages from NDP candidates Terence Kernaghan (London North Centre) and Peggy Sattler (London West).
ETFO Thames Valley Teacher Local Election Endorsements/Recommendations
In the last provincial election, approximately 91% of elementary teachers voted – that's double the provincial average.
Teachers are active, engaged, and informed voters.
The ETFO Thames Valley Teacher Local will never tell Teachers how to vote. The ballot is secret. We do, however, provide information and advice for consideration.
The following candidates have been endorsed for consideration by ETFO Provincial and ETFO Thames Valley Teacher Local:
- Terence Kernaghan, NDP candidate in London North Centre.
- Peggy Sattler, NDP candidate in London West.
- Teresa Armstrong, NDP candidate in London Fanshawe.
The following candidates are recommended for consideration by the ETFO Thames Valley Teacher Local:
- Khadijah Haliru, NDP candidate in Oxford.
- Kathryn Shailer, NDP candidate in Lambton Kent Middlesex.
- NDP candidate in Elgin Middlesex London has withdrawn. Consider voting for a progressive candidate who supports public education.
