Mark MacLeod
Cheif Negotiator / Grievance Officer
Mark began his teaching journey in 2002. Before his involvement with the Union, he taught various grades in the Primary and Junior Divisions and served as a Learning Support Teacher for several years.
In 2017, Mark was elected as Chief Negotiator/Grievance Officer after being part of the Local executive and acting as a Workplace Steward since 2005.
As the lead negotiator during Collective Bargaining, he is dedicated to empowering members through education about the Collective Agreement. In his role as Grievance Officer, Mark oversees the grievance process, including the preparation, presentation, and resolution of grievances related to violations of the Collective Agreement.
Additionally, he is a member of several committees within the Local and serves as the recording secretary for the Local Corporation.
On the Provincial level, Mark has been a member of the Representative Council since 2017, participated in Collective Bargaining subgroups, and has been a delegate at the Federation Annual Meeting since 2012.
Mark is eager to serve the membership by collaborating with all stakeholders to enhance and strengthen our public education system. He is a passionate advocate for adequate special education funding, workers' rights, and social justice.
