Mike Thomas
First Vice President
Mike’s involvement with ETFO started early in his career, being elected into the role of Workplace Steward in his second year of teaching. Over time, he has been honoured to have held various positions within the Local, including Recording Secretary, Executive Member at Large, Treasurer, Chief Negotiator/Grievance Officer, and Vice President. Mike currently serves the membership in the role of First Vice-President, a position he has been entrusted by the membership to hold since 2015.
Apart from Mike’s Local involvement, he has served the Federation and Members as a Provincial Executive Assistant in Collective Bargaining (2014 - 2015). Presently, Mike is serving a term on the Provincial Executive, representing the 3800 members of Thames Valley and the 83,000 members within the Province of Ontario at the Executive Table.
Mike is a strong advocate for worker Health and Safety, Working Conditions, Collective Bargaining, and believe in fostering a positive employer-employee relationship.

- Member Representation for Employer Investigations
- Schools of Concerns
